Tim Bartlett started his career by obtaining his National Certificate in Agriculture in 1982. He then returned to the family farm in South Perrott where he worked until 1984 when his family sold the farm and moved to Melplash Court in Dorset. Following the second sale of Melplash Court 3 months later the new owners Mr and Mrs Timothy Lewis asked his father and himself to restore the gardens to their former glory. Over the next 26 years and with the consultancy of Mr.Terry Baker of The Botanic Nursery Wiltshire they reclaimed what they could and extended the gardens into what was to become one of the best loved gardens in Dorset.
During this time Tim retrained in horticulture at Kingston Mauward College Dorchester attending day release ,winning student of the year in 1988,1989,1990. Tim has also obtained his chemical sprays certificates and chainsaw certificates.
Melplash Court opened their garden twice a year with the NGS (National Garden Scheme), the garden has been featured in the English Garden magazine and more recently in the Gardens Illustrated magazine, and was also open to private garden tours.
In September 2010 Melplash Court was again sold and Tim then moved forward to extend his own already established gardening business based at South Perrott Beaminster Dorset, providing a service throughout West Dorset and South Somerset.
